On May 3 we welcomed two eminent journalists, from two continents, for a provocative discussion.

Jill Abramson, the first female executive editor of The New York Times (2011-2014) and a highlighted speaker at this year’s Sydney Writer’s Festival, was interviewed by Juanita Phillips, the renowned ABC news presenter (and, we note proudly, a local resident).

It was a lively conversation ranging from  ‘fake news’, to the future of journalism, and the defining moments of Jill’s legendary career, which include covering the Monica Lewinsky-Bill Clinton scandal; and the lead up to the Iraq war.
