A voyage to the heart of France, to learn language and culture in a fun, immersive and delicious style.
Enrolment is limited to 16 people. We meet at Bookoccino, from 5.30 – 8.00pm, for four consecutive Tuesday evenings beginning on May 14, 2024
Arrive at 5.30pm for language class. Course-book (and homework) provided
At 6.30pm we eat and drink. We try a few sentences, round our vowels and have a good laugh.
At 7pm we learn, in a bilingual fashion, about the culture of four distinct regions of France.

A Menu of French Classics, homemade by Isabelle
We begin in Nouvelle Aquitaine, in the Sth West region of France, stretching from the Gironde Estuary to the Pyrenees and the Spanish border. A region of châteaux, charming towns, vineyards and seaside resorts. Dine on Confit de canard, on fresh baguette, Pintxos Tortilla Pasatas and a desert of Canelés. Wash it down with a Bordeaux red.
In our second week we journey to Brittany, the hearty and historic peninsula to the Northwest of France where a Celtic influence remains. Enjoy Brittany’s infamous crèpes, both sweet and savoury, with a glass of cider.
Welcome to the South of France, to Occitany. Breathtaking landscapes and rich traditions with a convivial air. We try Toulouse sausage, wrapped in a delicate feuilleté with Dijon mustard and a garlic tart from Lomagne.
The Ile-de-France, home to the city of Paris, is one of the world’s classic sites of romance and culture. No visit is complete without a glass of Champagne and Madeleine’s (ala Marcel Proust) Mini Ratatouille quiches and Brie, Apple and Honey baguette round out our delicious season of French Immersion.
