About Us
All great bookstores come with a story.
Bookoccino is no exception.
The original Northern Beaches bookstore, Bookoccino was founded in 1992 by Margaret and Roger Hutchings, who promised that it would be
‘more than just a bookstore’.
We stand by that promise.
Now owned by Raymond Bonner, a Pulitzer prize winning former foreign correspondent and author, in partnership with local
bibliophile Sally Tabner, our vision is for a sophisticated cultural space providing the opportunity to engage with literature.
Our premises is custom designed by award-winning architect Drew Heath to celebrate the beauty and timelessness of literature. We welcome you to join us at one of the most unique venues in Sydney. We serve excellent coffee and a small, carefully selected range of wines. A community of world-class musicians perform over the weekends and we regularly host events with some of the finest book authors from Australia and abroad.
With warmest of wishes,
Sally and Raymond
